African Adventures provides unique volunteer teaching experiences for trainee teachers.
Your trainee teachers will work alongside local teaching staff at our partner projects in Ghana, Kenya and Zanzibar, exchanging educational ideas and practices in the process. This experience of working in an unfamiliar environment, with minimal resources, helps develop invaluable skills that will be hugely beneficial for future teaching careers.
Trainees will return home with a deeper sense of global awareness, having become highly creative and flexible teachers. With the option to teach at primary or secondary level in subjects such as English, mathematics and geography, trainees are encouraged to step out of their comfort zones, adapting their teaching styles to meet the needs of the children.
Trainee teachers will help students work towards local curriculum objectives which differ dramatically from those in the UK. Up to six hours per day can be spent teaching, all of which count towards initial teacher training (ITT) hours.
We make the entire experience for you as a group leader as simple as possible. We take care of everything, provide inclusive packages and support you and your group from start to finish.
Take your trainees on the experience of a lifetime; one that will help shape their characters and their futures for the better.
