I joined African Adventures in 2018 and now hold the positon of Marketing and Communications Executive. My role involves ensuring that as many people as possible know about the incredible volunteering experiences that African Adventures offers, and the work that we do in Ghana, Kenya and Zanzibar.
Winning ‘Best Volunteering Organisation’ at the British Youth Travel Awards in 2018 has been a particular highlight for me; to be recognised by industry experts for the work that we do is absolutely incredible. Attending the awards ceremony in London is something I won’t forget in a hurry!
African Adventures recently became a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), meaning that we have committed to upholding the principles of the UNGC, and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals. These goals aim to create a better future for people and planet, something which I feel is really important to ensure sustainability for future generations. Even doing little things every day, such as using a reusable water bottle, can have such a big impact.
Outside of work, I really enjoy cooking, reading and travelling, and have been lucky enough to visit Peru, India and Tanzania – Japan is next on my list!
