I started my role as Marketing & Communications Officer at African Adventures in January 2019, joining the aptly named Marketing and Communications team. The job encapsulates all aspects of internal and external communications, creating content for the website and social media platforms, and helping with marketing campaigns to ensure our core company messages are being seen by those who need to see them.
I am fresh out of university, and one of my proudest achievements to date, aside from graduating with a MA Sports Marketing degree, was winning the Global Professional Development award from the Chartered Management Institute during my time at Coventry University.
I have always prided myself on having a strong moral compass, and working for an organisation that matches my own core values is particularly important to me. The service African Adventures provides not only benefits our partner projects in Africa, but also improves the lives of those volunteers who have had the opportunity to go and make a difference.
Alongside my studies, I worked part-time as a freelancer for a national disability sports team, which was an incredible experience, and I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to connect with some truly inspirational people during that time.
