African Adventures Leanne

I joined African Adventures in January 2015, to take up what was then a new role for the company, as Finance and Office Manager.

The role has certainly evolved and expanded since 2015 but my main responsibilities include in-country payments from both the Company and the Foundation, HR, and assistance with the maintenance of our accreditations e.g. the ‘Learning Outside the Classroom’ and School Travel Forum Compliance.

Qualifications include an HNC in Business and Management with a background from Veterinary Pathology.  However, I have been an Office Manager for many years, and it is a pleasure to work in a different industry and see the impact we are having as a Company in Ghana, Kenya and Zanzibar.  I personally witnessed this first-hand in Zanzibar in 2017.

Since joining the company, I have been actively involved in the organisation of our Fundraising Dinners. These are large and fun events attended by over 300 guests, many of whom have previously volunteered with African Adventures, and it is a pleasure to witness their enthusiasm and continued support following their trips. These are life changing trips that have a huge impact for many years afterwards.
