I joined African Adventures in April 2020 as a trip co-ordinator. I try to ensure that groups have the best possible experience by looking after them right from their booking all the way through to departure, answering any questions so that everyone is fully prepared for their trip.
My love for Africa started when I visited South Africa at the age of 13 and again at 16 with my family. From that time onwards, I wanted to go back and explore different areas. So, years later during my placement year at the University of Bath – where I graduated with a BA(hons) in Sport and Social Science – I took the opportunity to work with a sports charity in Tanzania for 10 months, delivering sports sessions in schools and clubs, and helping fundraise and build sports centres across the city of Mwanza.
After leaving university I worked as a Graduate Sports Assistant at Uppingham School. However, after my unforgettable experience in Tanzania, all I could think about was my passion for Africa. This is when I came across the perfect job opening for me, here at African Adventures.
I am ecstatic to work for a company that aligns with everything I believe in – a company which displays strong moral values, and does amazing work. Not only does African Adventures support existing projects in Africa with development, it also provides young people from the UK with the opportunity to experience new cultures and learn new skills and ultimately have an experience like mine.
Outside of work I’m usually playing sport or in the gym, playing with my dogs, laughing around with my friends and family and, like Laura, probably baking!
