African Adventures was awarded Silver in the Best Volunteering Organisation category at the British Youth Travel Awards last week. We were delighted to be recognised for our work in the volunteer travel industry, only narrowly missing out on first place.

The Best Volunteering Organisation award rewards UK-based organisations engaged in volunteer tourism that can demonstrate the delivery of benefits to the local communities in which they work and the volunteers involved.

Best Volunteering Organisation

African Adventures has now been runner-up in two prestigious awards, coming second in the Global Youth Travel Awards just three months ago. Dan Mew, the organisation’s Founder and Director, won the BETA Rising Star award last year, testament to his contribution to the volunteer travel industry over the years.

Our goal for the organisation, over the coming year, is to add an award for the company, to acknowledge the great work being done to improve access to education for children in Africa. Of course, this is only possible with the help of our volunteers so we want to dedicate our recent successes to you, our volunteers, and say a big THANK YOU!
